Sõir Festival at Saatse Seto Museum
The traditional Sõir Festival introduces Saatse area as a 'curd cheese neck of woods' as the folk expression goes. At the museum, we are going to boil sõir (a type of cheese) and hold a community sõir-making competition. Visitors can taste sõir made in Saatse area and vote for the best sõir-maker of the year. The event includes a special programme for children that introduces making curd cheese at home and wonderful curd cheese dishes. Entertainment is provided by local folk musicians and dancers.
